Tsukiji Suzutomi Sushi Tomi Honten

I've been able to experience omakase at Sushi Dai twice in my life (different seasons highlight different fish) and this is easily the best value to quality set you can get bar none. Situated in walking distance of the Tsukiji Fish market means you will get the highest quality sea food. There is an unquestionable amount of freshness that comes with each cut. You can see it in the vivid colors and execution. Even as the sushi chef slams the clam on rice down it begins to move only to just be momentarily devoured. You end the set with whatever you want, name it and if it's available it's yours. There isn't a single bad cut. Every cut is top notch; the toro rich and savory and the uni the sweetest and succulent as can possibly be. There are no fritz and frills here, just unadulterated quality. If you're familiar with high end omakase, the bar will feel raised; if this is a relatively new experience for you, get ready for sushi bliss.

Sushi tomi is pretty much a hidden gem in the bustling market of Tsukiji. Serving edo-style sushi, the place serves their food with elegance and quiet demeanor, unlike the typical loud and rowdy nuance of the busy fish market. The chirashi-don Tsukiji is one of the most "standard" menu for first-timer; and it does not disappoint.

Delicious food! They highlight the freshness of these local ingredient. The price is reasonable considering the portions of sashimi set meal the restaurant serves up. And the egg was very soft and sweet.

Great sushi without a line, compared to one or two hour waits at the places nearby. Scallops and salmon were particularly good. Would recommend unless you are eager for a line.

Small place, but the sushi was incredible! I felt the price was good, the quality and range was amazing (I had the omakase plate). Presentation was great. The staff were very very friendly, and even spoke some English, explaining to me what each of the sushi were. I'd happily come here again next time!

I visited on Saturday and had a handful without a lunch. Shari is a small sushi that I like. I think the material is better than the price. I don't know at night but quit smoking in the daytime. The appearance is like a sushi restaurant in town, but you can enjoy delicious sushi.

I’m traveling solo with a 1.5 year old, ran across this gem by chance, the sushi bar was packed with locals at lunch, There was no place to park the stroller and backpack, but they let me eat at their door step. Went back the next day at 2pm when the sushi bar was empty, they were more than willing to accommodate my kid and seat us, same cannot be said with other sushi bars. Oh and the cuts were excellent.

I went by myself. I was the only non Japanese. They helped me with the menu. Everyone is charming. Typical good vibe Japanese hospitality. Some kind gentleman gave me lots of sake, the people chat together, you're made to feel welcome. It's a place that is just as much about the characters you meet in there as well as the staff. I'm sure I got lucky with a great crowd but I'll be back for sure to find out. The food goes without saying, it's delicious and comeswith nice miso soup and tea.

Tucked away from all the touristy sushi shop, you better speak Japanese or choose from the pictures ! Very small place where the sushis are made in front of you. Most delicious raw fish I've ever had. Honest prices.
